This was when I finally got put out at the corporate site.
So I had finished my training in April. I thought I was ready to get some real work since I was working at some parking lot at the time. But no I never got the call. What finally saved me was that the office was moving and needed a extra guard at the new site. So since they didn't have anybody I finally got my chance.
And I tell you what. My first night there was scary for me. I had never been in a place like that and I was by myself at night. What it was, was there was three buildings, two stories each with nothing in them. And no lights. The place was huge. I think the majority of my first night was spent at the front desk since that was the only place that had any lights. They didn't even give us a flashlight yet.
But after a few weeks I got over it and it was no big deal other than one building that I still had a problem with. Which is a fun story for the future. Anyways they had started to move furniture in starting to get it ready for the move. I was lucky because Sgt. Retodd wasn't at the site yet. But he came very soon after that.
After they had moved everybody in I had to only deal with him a few hours out of the day, because he left the second the clock turned 5. I had to show up around 3:30. But as soon as the old offices were complete then they had a dilemma. What do we do with the extra guards? So they had a meeting between the owners of the security company, the two on-site supervisors, and the client.
The only reason I know what went on during that meeting is because the client and the owners both told me so I could be aware of the situation. As you know by now as well is that I am the owners son. One of the main reasons why Sgt Retodd doesn't like me. Well they started talking about business and how security is going to be handled in the new buildings now.
Then they got to the part where some of the security guards were going to have to go. And Sgt. Retodd without a moments hesitation blurted out my name. And silenced followed. They asked him if there was any main reason why he wanted me out so bad, because they had thought I did a good job so far. He didn't say one word. But the client then made this comment." It is pretty ballsy of you to blurt out the owners son as the first person to be fired"
As you can tell I wasn't fired. And they ended up not firing anybody, because a few people fell out and others found other jobs. In fact they were short handed pretty quickly after we got started. So I was able to keep my job working nights which was fine with me. Only problem now is I had other guards working there now.

Well if other people are there it gives you someone to shoot in the knees if you get bored
